Vodafone Idea Enters Fintech Space with ‘Vi Finance’ Platform on Vi App
In partnership with Aditya Birla Capital and others, the new service offers Vi users seamless access to personal loans, fixed deposits, and credit cards.

NEW DELHI – Telecom operator Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched Vi Finance, a new, all-in-one digital financial services platform available directly within the Vi App. The strategic move aims to simplify access to key financial products for millions of Indian consumers by offering a paperless and hassle-free solution for borrowing, saving, and building credit.
The platform was built in collaboration with established financial partners, including Aditya Birla Capital, fintech infrastructure provider Upswing Financial Technologies, and credit card marketplace Credilio. This integration allows Vi to leverage its massive subscriber base to offer a suite of trusted financial solutions.
“We believe this digital-first, paperless approach will simplify how millions of Indians manage their finances,” said Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer at Vi. “Vi Finance brings speed, simplicity, and security to everyday financial decisions.”
Key Features of Vi Finance
Vi Finance is designed as a one-stop shop for diverse financial needs. Key offerings include:
Personal Loans: Users can apply for collateral-free personal loans starting from ₹50,000. The platform offers competitive interest rates beginning at 10.99% per annum, with a completely digital application process that requires minimal documentation and KYC.
Fixed Deposits (FDs): Through a marketplace powered by Upswing, customers can invest in fixed deposits from various banks with as little as ₹1,000. The platform advertises interest rates of up to 8.4%. For depositor security, all FDs are insured up to ₹5 lakh per bank under the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) scheme.
Credit Cards: In partnership with Credilio, Vi Finance provides access to a wide range of credit cards from leading banks like SBI, HDFC, and Axis Bank. A notable feature is the availability of FD-backed credit cards, designed to help users with limited credit history establish and improve their credit scores.
The launch marks a significant step for Vodafone Idea as it diversifies its services beyond telecommunications into the rapidly growing fintech sector. By embedding financial services into its existing app, the company aims to enhance customer engagement and create new revenue streams.
Vi Finance is now available to all Vi users across India. The service can be accessed by downloading or updating the Vi App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
